Some businesses start from scratch. Ours started with experience — and the realization that our community needed something back.
Seeing It in Action
When Alissa was working as the Listings Manager for Dane Ramsden, a respected local REALTOR® and Associate Broker, they often crossed paths with Caring Transitions through its previous owner. They saw firsthand the difference it made for clients — especially seniors — who needed more than just a real estate transaction.
This service handled the whole process: downsizing, packing, moving, estate sales, and creating a safe, functional new space. Families had less stress, homes were market-ready faster, and everyone felt supported.
The Gap in Our Community
When that Caring Transitions location closed, Dane and Alissa immediately noticed the void. Clients still faced the same challenges — sorting through a lifetime of belongings, figuring out what to take, what to sell, and how to make it all happen — but now without a trusted local resource to guide them.
They both knew Oakland and Macomb counties needed Caring Transitions again. The service had been too valuable to lose.
The Decision to Bring It Back
That’s when Dane came to Alissa with an idea:
"What if we brought Caring Transitions back to Oakland and Macomb counties… and you ran it?"
It didn’t take much convincing. With her background in interior design, project management, and real estate, Alissa already had the skills — and the passion — to guide people through major life changes with compassion and organization.
So Dane purchased the franchise, and Alissa stepped into the role of running the company day-to-day.
Building a Team with Heart
From day one, the focus has been on building a team that treats every client like family. They partner closely with senior living communities, realtors, and local resources so that no matter what stage of transition a family is in, they feel supported from start to finish.
Why We Do What We Do
Caring Transitions Oakland Macomb exists because Dane and Alissa saw a service their community needed, and they were determined to bring it back.
It’s more than moving boxes. It’s about honoring a lifetime of memories, creating safe and welcoming new spaces, and making life’s toughest transitions a little easier — one family at a time.
